Geometric Wall Decals

Decals are separate shapes with a removable adhesive, so you place only what you need and leave open wall between elements. This makes them popular for playrooms where you can adjust the design as children grow. Wallpaper arrives in panels and covers the surface continuously with matched seams. If you want a small grid or a single band around a room, decals give that control without a full wrap.

A smooth, clean, dry wall finished in eggshell, satin, or semi-gloss works best. Allow new paint to cure fully, wash with mild soap, rinse, let it dry, then make a quick pass with isopropyl alcohol so oils are gone. This careful preparation is especially important for minimalist interiors where every line must read cleanly. Heavy texture, dust, or moisture can lift edges and break straight lines.

Minor shifts are possible during the first session if you lift a corner slowly and reseat the piece. For removal months later, warm the shape gently with a hair dryer and peel back at a shallow angle while supporting the wall with your free hand. This clean removal works well in apartments where you may need to restore walls when moving. On sound, primed paint this is usually clean, but test a discreet spot first.

Mark a light pencil grid or use a laser level, then set two reference points to keep everything square. Cut a simple spacer card, for example 5 centimeters or 2 inches wide, and use it between shapes as you work. This precision is essential for achieving the clean look typical of Scandinavian interiors. Step back a few paces after every few pieces, confirm alignment, and press around each edge so the geometry stays crisp.
