Entries, hall ends, dining walls, home offices, and kids' rooms. Choose the wall first in view with few breaks. A smooth surface and indirect light help the pattern read cleanly from typical viewing spots.

Match scale to viewing distance. Wide walls can take larger dots; compact rooms read best with medium-sized dots. As a guide, set the dot diameter around 1 to 3% of the wall width. Tape a sample and check in day and evening light.

Tight spacing looks lively but can feel busy in small rooms. Wider spacing reads calmer and airier. Use a lighter ground to keep the wall open. In low rooms, keep rows level and avoid heavy clusters near the ceiling line.

Keep textiles mostly solid and furniture lines simple. Repeat one dot colour in two small accents. Use a plain rug, light wood or one metal finish, and simple frames with wide mats. Leave a little blank wall to avoid visual clutter.
